9-Mile Chapaton Ramp Will Stay Open

Seawall at Chapaton Ramp

One of the best shoreline angling sites is at Chapaton Ramp park.

Update:  In March we reported that the City of Eastpointe was questioning whether they would be able to afford the operations and maintenance costs associated with keeping the boat ramp open at the Chapaton boat ramp at 9-Mile Rd. and Jefferson Avenue.  We found out last week that the City of St. Clair Shores has taken over these responsibilities. Sothe ramp, and its fabulous shoreline fishing, will be open again this summer.  This is great news for east side anglers who want a great place launch their boat or want to fish from the shoreline.
