An Angler’s Thanksgiving

November 21st, 2011 editor No comments

Anglers in southeast Michigan are blessed with many fishing opportunities.  Sometimes it is easy to take these gifts for granted.  We can be thankful for lots of clean water and plentiful game fish in our rivers and lakes.  And as our rivers and lakes get cleaner, expect better fishing and bigger fish for all.

Here’s what Lake St. Clair anglers are thankful for this Thanksgiving:

Walleyes in the Detroit River

Ice fishing at Metro Beach

Clean water education programs from the Clinton River Watershed Council

Ugly Stiks

50″ muskies

Veronica and Captain Dan at Lakeside Fishing Shop

Perch, perch, perch

The spring steelhead run in the Clinton River

The fishing pier at Brandenburg Park

6-pound smallmouth bass
