Are there many of these smallies out there?  Yes!  Stories abound of bigger fish this year.  Best baits:  Black leeches on 1/4-oz. lead sinkers, tube baits, any color, though we are partial to crayfish, on 1/4-oz. tube hooks; top water lures like spinner baits are good in less weedy areas.  Fish are in 10-14′ of water.  Water is clearing up.  Weather this weekend is likely to be hot and perfect for bass anglers so get out and enjoy the new bass season on Lake St. Clair.

Muskie Madness on the Canadian South Shore

We’ve heard reports of many, many smaller muskies (“beyond belief”!)  being caught this week off the southern shore of Lake St. Clair.  Just head for Belle River or the Belle River Hump or Thames River.  Fish are in 15′ of water.  Best baits:  Lokey’s, white perch, frog, Pretty Baby’s.
