4 Hot Tips For Fishing Snow-Covered Ice
Fishing on Lake St. Clair has been great lately but then the snow came and created problems for anglers. Why? Snow blocks the light from the sun making it difficult to see the fish and the fish to see our baits.
Here are four tips to help you catch more fish on snow-covered ice:
- Lures should be bright colors. Try chartreuse or glow in the dark lures.
- Use more active lures with lots of action. Use lures that flutter a lot or lures that rattle.
- Move around on the ice more than you otherwise would. The fish are moving down there and so should you.
- Use 2-hook perch rig spreaders with shiners barely hooked on to give them more ability to swim and create more action.
Lakeside Fishing Shop has an adjustable 2-hook perch rig and also sells the Reilly’s Custom Baits spreader rigs.
