A fine august Lake St. Clair Muskie

A fine august Lake St. Clair Muskie

Two reports this week from local anglers:

This fishing report is from JT, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan:

Here’s a muskie I caught in Lake St. Clair; 15 miles east of the 9 mile tower in 18 foot water; 28 lbs; 48 inches.  Silver spinner on a plainer board; 25 lb. mono.  Also, we landed three fish yesterday, August 10.  One was 50″.  Life’s great if you’re a muskie hunter!

This fishing report from R.P. Miller who had a great day last week:

Smallmouth hot this summer.  Caught 7 today (8-4-09) in the 19-21″ range. Two weeks ago my largest at 22 3/4″.  Occasional largemouth in the mix of equal size. Most of our fishing is done in Anchor Bay near the three buoys (A,B,C).  Still seeking the elusive walleye.  Trying to learn my “home waters” rather than boating 10+ miles to go to the St. Clair light.  Good luck on the water.  Keep the nightcrawlers cut in half and cool to keep them lively.
